The Meriwether County Board of Education is seeking Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for employee benefit brokerage services. The purpose of this request is to select a benefit brokerage services firm that will serve as an advisor to the Meriwether County Board of Education and its administrative team regarding employee benefits. The selected advisor will be expected to assist in the evaluation, selection, implementation and management of our employee benefits program. Response to this request and a completed W9 form must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Request for Qualifications - Employee Benefits". Coach Jeremy Williams' story is one that has encouraged and inspired.  He led the Greenville Patriots to an undefeated season.  His tenacity and positive attitude in the face of his battle with ALS has led to television and newspaper stories.  His story is one of five in the 2009 AJC Sports Story of the Year Poll (click to vote).  People from across the state are recommending Coach Williams for the National High School Football Coach of the Year Award (contact Jim Nalley at USA Today by sending an email to letters@usatoday.com).  Coach Williams does whatever it takes to ensure that all students aim high, achieve, graduate, and succeed.

Award for Excellence

Superintendent Carol Lane received the "Award for Excellence" for Outstanding Advocacy on behalf of School Psychologists and the Children of Georgia. The award was presented at the Georgia Association of School Psychologists' Annual Fall Conference on November 3, 2009. November 9-13, 2009 is National School Psychology Awareness Week. The theme of this year's School Psychology Awareness Week, 'See the possibilities in you. We do!" focuses on shining a light on the positive work school psychologists do to promote the endless possibilities for academic and personal success in the lives of the students they serve.

Ginger Henderson won the Phil Pickens Parent Mentor Leadership Award for the State of Georgia at the Parent Mentor State Conference on Wednesday October 14th.  The award was presented during their awards luncheon.  There are 90 parent mentors in Georgia.
